Lost Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Song Released to Promote Posthumous Album

Discovered by the late 'American Girl' hitmaker's family and bandmates, 'For Real' gets unleashed two weeks prior to the release of the band's compilation record, 'The Best of Everything'.

AceShowbiz - A lost Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers song has been unearthed and released to promote the band's upcoming "The Best Of Everything" compilation.

The late "American Girl" hitmaker's family and bandmates came together to remaster Tom Petty's favourite tracks from his lengthy career, discovering unreleased tune "For Real" in the process.

The song was released on Friday, February 15 as the teaser for the hits collection, which drops on March 1.

The new album will also feature a previously unreleased, alternative version of the title track, which originally appeared on the band's acclaimed 1985 album "Southern Accents".
