The actor debuted his new look last month (January 2019) and tells Entertainment Tonight it's here to stay - and it's all thanks to the "Timber" hitmaker and his signature style.
"He's one of my inspirations, for sure," the 64-year-old shared. "I had this look for a movie called 'From Paris with Love' years ago."
Travolta didn't expect his new look would cause such a stir, but he's thrilled so many people seem to like it.
"I never thought of wearing it as, like, a full-time look, and then my family said, 'Why don't you shave it for the new year?' and then I dared to post it on my Instagram (account)," he continued. "It went crazy, went viral, much more than I ever expected and it made headlines."
Ironically, the last time the "Grease" star was photographed with hair was at Pitbull's hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on December 14, and John reveals he has struck up a close friendship with the rapper after working with him on the movie "Gotti".
Travolta shocked fans when he first posted his new look in a post on Instagram. In the picture, he posed alongside his daughter Ella Bleu while showing off his salt and pepper moustache and beard, as well as his entirely bald head.
The "Pulp Fiction" star didn't draw attention to his appearance and simply captioned the shot: "I hope everyone had a great New Year!".
