Tori is generous enough to share some details of the project, adding that the reboot will feature some original cast members returning.

AceShowbiz - We're going back to the Peach Pit! Tori Spelling has confirmed that a reboot to "Beverly Hills, 90210" is really happening. The actress/writer made the announcement during her appearance on "Access Live" on Friday, February 1.

"It's confirmed," Tori, who recently appeared on FOX's "The Masked Singer", said. "We're doing a new '90210'."

The "Stori Telling" author was visibly surprised by the hosts' reaction after she confirmed the news. "Did I just confirm something that wasn't known?" she asked while covering her mouth.

Not stopping there, Tori was generous enough to share some details of the project, adding that the reboot would feature some original cast members returning. "It is the OG crew back together, and we're playing heightened version of ourselves," she explained. "The fans will be pleasantly surprised, though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show. So it'll be a whole ensemble cast."

However, some familiar faces were said to not reprise their roles on the new iteration of the FOX series. "Luke has 'Riverdale', so Luke will do as many as he can do," Tori said of Luke Perry, who played Dylan McKay on the original series. "But almost the whole original cast."

Another original star was seemingly also missing out on the project as Tori revealed that it remained uncertain if Shannen Doherty would reprise her role as Brenda Walsh for the reboot. "We would love to have her on. ... There is no status right now," Tori noted. "But if she's watching, we would love to have you do it."

Reports of a "Beverly Hills, 90210" reboot first emerged back in December 2018. At the time, it was said that the new project wouldn't be a traditional reboot despite featuring most of the original cast which included Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris.

Created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling, the original "Beverly Hills, 90210" ran for 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000 on FOX. Meanwhile, The CW's revival "90210" aired from 2008 to 2013. Tori, Jenny and Shannen reprised their roles from the original series in the first season.

The franchise was further growing bigger as "90210" also spawned the long-running spin-off "Melrose Place" and short-lived soap "Models Inc.".
