AceShowbiz - "The Wendy Williams" Show" has assigned a new host as she's on the mend for suffering Graves' Disease complications. "The Wendy Williams Show" announced on Tuesday, January 29 that Nick Cannon has been tapped to temporarily take over the hosting duty on the daytime talk show.
Taking the news to Instagram, the show wrote, "Friend to the show and host of Fox's The Masked Singer and MTV’s Wild n' Out, @nickcannon will be guest hosting The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, February 4th, Tuesday, February 5th & Wednesday, February 6th." The account went on penning in the caption, "The new hour long episodes will include Wendy’s staple Hot Topics segment, 'Ask Wendy,' celebrity interviews and more!"
Fans flooded the comment sections with well-wishes for Wendy, who has been taking break from the show ealier this year. "My two years old daughter is crying everyday when there is Wendy on the show and she sings Wendy where you, Wendy where you. I love that song. Speedy recovery Wendy and come back soon. Miss you. Prayers and hugs," a fan wrote.
Another fan said, "Miss you Wendy! My cousin has Graves’ disease. We got tickets for the 11th, but my dad passed away. We will look for tickets when you go back. I have been a fan since your radio show. Get healthy and enjoy your time off."
According to a source, "staff at [Williams'] show are eager to get back to work. We are all hoping she is well. The mood at the set is good … We just want Wendy to get better."
The news of the replacement arrives more than a week after it was revealed that Wendy was hospitalized again which made her extend her hiatus from the talk show. "As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves' disease that will require treatment," her family shared in a statement. "Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital."
"Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being," the statement further detailed. "Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and the Hunter family's privacy during this time."
