Another 'The Walking Dead' and 'Fear' Crossover Is Coming Featuring Dwight
AMC/Gene Page

Austin Amelio will reprise the character on 'Fear the Walking Dead' season 5 after being absent from the first half of season 9 of 'The Walking Dead'.

AceShowbiz - AMC is cooking another crossover between "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead". "The Walking Dead" star Austin Amelio, who plays Dwight, is set to head to the spin-off for the event.

Amelio will reprise the character on "Fear the Walking Dead" after being absent from the first half of season 9 of "The Walking Dead". Prior to this, it was Lennie James' Morgan who headed over to "Fear" for the previous crossover in the latter's season 4.

Fans last saw Dwight in season 8 finale of the AMC zombie drama. In the episode, Daryl (Norman Reedus) banished the reformed Savior from Alexandria, and asked him not to return ever again. It seems like his story will continue on the spin-off.

In season 5, Amelio will be joining "Fear" cast members which include Jenna Elfman, Garret Dillahunt and Maggie Grace. The new season will also see original cast members Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia reprising their respective roles.

Scott Gimple previously hinted at San Diego Comic-Con in 2018 that there was high possibility for more crossovers in the future despite "The Walking Dead" featuring a massive time jump. "It does not [rule out more crossovers]," he said. "That's about all I got to say. It does not but I wouldn't expect it all the time. Things could happen. You never know who might pop up on 'Fear the Walking Dead'. That includes 'The Walking Dead' and potentially people in the past from 'Fear the Walking Dead'."

It was said that at the time, they had planned to develop a crossover which would see Amelio's character joining "Fear the Walking Dead" in its fifth season.

"The Walking Dead" will return for the back half of season 9 on February 10, 2019 at 9 P.M. Meanwhile, "Fear the Walking Dead" season 5 will arrive sometime in 2019 on AMC.
