Michael, who stars as D.J. Conner on the ABC series, shares that the split is 'amicable' decision between the two.

AceShowbiz - "The Conners" actor Michael Fishman has called it quits with Jennifer Briner, his wife of nearly 20 years. It's reported that Jennifer filed for legal separation from the actor on Thursday, December 27.

In the docs obtained by TMZ, the former couple seeks joint physical and legal custody of their 16-year-old daughter Isabella. In addition, they will try to divide their assets, including a 2008 Ford Edge, a 2001 Ford Expedition and several bank accounts, privately.

Michael, who stars as D.J. Conner on the ABC series, shares to the news outlet that the split is "amicable" decision between him and Jennifer as they went together to file the documents.

The 37-year-old actor, who plays one of the children of Roseanne Barr's character on the "Roseanne" spin-off, and Jennifer allegedly have been "in the process of splitting amicably" since June of last year. They were forced to delay the process when "production on 'Roseanne' abruptly stopped" due to the scandal involving leading actress Roseanne.

However, it's unknown what led to the separation but the docs cite "irreconcilable differences" as the reason of the divorce.

The split arrives after the two wed in 1999. They have two children together from their marriage.

Previously, Michael, who appeared in one episode of "Seinfeld", gushed about his wife in an interview. "My wife is my hero because my kids' academic success is undoubtedly due to her dedication when they were little," he raved. "She read to them constantly, went over letters, numbers, basic math, basic reading, the foundation is what they build on. I teach concepts, life skills, and large ideas. We talk about everything and anything -- I am often the most uncomfortable."
