The leaked picture from the upcoming issue of Empire magazine shows a stylized drawing of Gyllenhaal as the Spider-Man villain without his helmet.

AceShowbiz - It may be still days away before Marvel Studios drops the first trailer of "Spider-Man: Far From Home", but fans have got a new glimpse at Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. A promotional art for the movie has leaked online, showing the actor in his character's costume without his helmet.

The image is a stylized drawing of the Spider-Man villain from the upcoming issue of Empire magazine. It serves as the first official look at Gyllenhaal as the character after previously leaked set photos and videos featured a stunt double in the Mysterio get-up.

While it has been long speculated that Gyllenhaal would be playing the criminal mastermind in the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel, it's not until earlier this month that he appeared to confirm his role. For his first Instagram post, he shared a funny video showing him reading "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic titled "The Return of the Man Called Mysterio" and wittily wrote in the caption, "I just realized I'm not playing Spider-Man."

The most well-known iteration of Mysterio in Marvel Comics is Quentin Beck, a Hollywood stuntman and special effects artist who dreams of becoming a big film star. When his dreams aren't obtainable, he turns into a criminal mastermind using his ability to create expert illusions.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker. The upcoming sequel will take the titular character overseas as he travels abroad during summer vacation. Zendaya Coleman returns as Peter's friend and potential love interest Michelle "MJ" Jones, Marisa Tomei is back as Aunt May, and Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury.

Jon Watts returns to serve as director, with the script provided by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The superhero pic set for a July 5, 2019 release in the United States.
