Starz has also issued a statement about the death of Pedro Jimenez, explaining that the network is working to 'fully understand' the on-set accident.

AceShowbiz - The set of 50 Cent's hit show "Power" has been shut down after a production assistant was killed on Monday, December 10.

Pedro Jimenez was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while he was putting out traffic cones in Brooklyn, New York ahead of a shoot.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family," a spokesperson for network Starz tells Deadline. "Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez' family as we work to fully understand what has happened."

50 Cent has also issued a statement about the tragedy via social media, writing, "I just learned we lost Pedro Jimenez, a member of the 'Power' production team early this morning. My prayers and condolences are with the entire Jimenez family."

According to Deadline, the driver of the vehicle was another crew member. New York Police Department officers are currently investigating the incident.

Jimenez had been working on the show since its debut in 2014. It is unclear when production on "Power"'s upcoming sixth season will resume.
