AceShowbiz - Jennie has officially become the first BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut. After much anticipation, the South Korean darling released her debut single "Solo" along with its music video on Monday, November 12.

The visuals features Jennie transforming from an innocent and delicate to a charismatic woman who has gained her independence. It opens with her roaming around a big, extravagant mansion all by myself in pretty outfits. Despite her lavish lifestyle, she looks undoubtedly bored and uninterested.

That doesn't last long, though. At one point in the clip, she can be seen walking into a laundromat, taking off her pretty dress and tossing it into a washer machine. She changes her ensemble into a black bodysuit, hot pants, fishnet stocking and a denim jacket. This scene indicates the moment where Jennie starts to ditch the good girl behavior that every girl is expected to have.

She eventually returns to the mansion, but she is not alone this time. Joining her are a large group of female dancers clad in an all-black ensemble. They team up to show off sleek choreography before the scene fades to black.

Since its release, "Solo" has topped nine domestic music charts as well as international charts. It claims the top position on iTunes charts in 40 countries including Argentina, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Finland and Singapore. Meanwhile, the music video has garnered more than thirteen millions views as of now.

In a press conference, Jennie revealed that she wanted to show a different image through the music video. "I wanted to show a bit different, more serious image. [You'll think,] 'Jennie has this side to her, too. And it's not bad,' " she said. "If I were to draw a comparison to promotions with BLACKPINK, it's that I tried to portray myself in a more detailed way. Even in just the teasers, there are a variety of outfits and concepts. [My solo] will be a chance for people to get to know me better."
