AceShowbiz - The Jennie of BLACKPINK recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of her debut solo full-length album, Ruby, which originally launched last March. The album made a strong impact, reaching No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart during its initial release.
To mark this milestone, an expanded edition titled Ruby (The Complete Edition) was released on Friday, March 6, adding six new tracks to the original 15-song lineup. This new collection now features a total of 21 tracks, including two high-energy remixes of the hip-hop and techno-infused track “like JENNIE” and four exclusive “JENNIE Only Audio” songs that were previously available only on the album’s physical copies.
The expanded edition kicks off with an electrifying extended remix of “like JENNIE,” which is packed with hard-hitting beats and a dynamic techno vibe. Following that is an EDM remix that intensifies the energy of the original track, making it even more suitable for dance floors and live performances.
The “JENNIE Only Audio” selections showcase a range of styles, including the dreamy pop ballad “Handlebars,” the smooth R&B track “ExtraL,” a soulful cover of Diana Ross’ classic “Love Hangover,” and the slow, sultry jam “Damn Right.” The original versions of these songs featured notable collaborations with artists such as Dua Lipa on “Handlebars,” Doechii on “ExtraL,” Dominic Fike on “Love Hangover,” and both Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis on “Damn Right.”
Several of these songs made notable appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart upon their initial releases. “ExtraL” peaked at No. 75, “Handlebars” reached No. 80, and “Love Hangover” climbed to No. 96. Additionally, the dance track “like JENNIE” secured a spot at No. 83 on the chart, illustrating the album’s broad appeal across different genres and audiences.
Last month, Jennie also contributed vocals to a remix of Tame Impala’s song “Dracula,” featured on Kevin Parker’s long-awaited fifth studio album, Deadbeat. She added new vocal layers over the verses and chorus, including an original verse, further showcasing her versatility as a singer and rapper.
Looking ahead, Jennie is set to embark on a global festival tour this summer. She will appear at several prominent music festivals, including Governors Ball in New York on June 7, Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain from July 8 to 11, and Summer Sonic Festival in Japan from August 14 to 16. These appearances promise to deliver energetic performances and highlight her continued growth as a solo artist.
