In a statement posted on his Facebook account, rep for the singer also claims that no one was hurt or arrested after the incident.

AceShowbiz - Morrissey has broken his silence after getting hit in the face when he was performing at the San Diego Symphony Hall on Saturday night, November 10. Through his representative, the English singer-songwriter insisted in a statement that it was unintentional and that he wasn't attacked during his show.

In a post shared on his official Facebook account, Peter Katsis stated that "nobody tried to punch" Morrissey at the show, insisting that his fans "are not malicious." He added, "The fans were simply doing what they have been doing for almost 30 years. Trying anything they could do to jump onstage and touch him, or hug him."

"The fan in question was certainly more aggressive in reaching out for him than most, so security had to do their job and subdue the fan. That's all it was," he continued, adding that no one was hurt or arrested after the incident.

Carlos Rodriguez, a man who claimed to be responsible for the incident, took to the comment section to thank Morrissey and his rep for clarifying the news. "Thank you for clearing this up. I admit it looks bad but the momentum to get up did look as if it was aggressive," he said. "I hugged him, Moz laughed and I was head locked. End of story."

As seen in footage of the incident, Morrissey was belting out "Every Day Is Like Sunday" when a few concert attendees stormed the stage. One appeared to be able to sneak past security and accidentally hit him in the face when the singer was trying to continue his performance. He was quickly ushered off stage as security dragged the fan off stage in a chokehold.

In the end, the concert was abruptly stopped since Morrissey never returned to the stage. He also canceled a meet and greet session which was supposed to be held after the concert.
