AceShowbiz - "Survivor" has returned for its 37th season with a new theme, "David vs. Goliath". Airing on Wednesday, September 26, the premiere featured the contestants for the new season splitted into two tribes, David and Goliath, with 10 players in each. According to host Jeff Probst, the David tribe have spent their lives "battling adversity" and are "always the underdog," while the Goliath tribe "spent their lives capitalizing on their assets and are always considered the favorite."

Later, the host asked the Goliath tribe to pick the weakest male and female on the David tribe. They chose Christian and Lyrsa, who later went facing off Alison and John, the strongest male and female on Goliath tribe.

At first, it seemed like the Goliath tribe would win the competition easily. However, the David tribe got a chance to turn the table as Christian and Lyrsa got to pick which course each team would take. They did well in choosing the course, earning them first reward of the season.

Meanwhile, Kara and Dan from the Goliath tribe were seen flirting to each other. As for the David tribe, they were quick in building alliances. Christian and Gabby bonded well, while Lyrsa and Elizabeth hit it off.

Next, the contestants found themselves in search for the hidden immunity idols. Mike led at the Goliath camp. Meanwhile, the David tribe made Pat and Nick as their targets for being controlling and lazy respectively.

Dan from the Goliath tribe found the idol first and shared the news to Kara and Natalia. After making their way through a series of obstacle in extreme weather, the Goliath tribe won.

Following the immunity challenge, Pat was medically evacuated for a back injury. "The boat slams down on one of the waves, and we hear a crack... at first I thought Pat just had hurt his back, maybe tweaked it a bit," his tribemate, Gabby, explained.

Pat was forced to leave the as Dr. Joe revealed that he might have fractured his back. Despite his strong rejection to leave, a helicopter was called to take him to the hospital for proper treatment. With that, he's being pulled from the game. "My health is bigger than this game," Pat declared. He was treated for his injuries and has made a full recovery.

With that, the David tribe didn't go to tribal council.

"Survivor" airs on Wednesdays at 8 P.M. on CBS.
