AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle took her mom Doria Ragland to the launch of her charity cookbook on Thursday, September 20, boasting the support she received from husband Prince Harry. The trio looked so bright as they arrived at an outdoor reception on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

For the engagement, which marks the first hosting event by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan opted for a chic style in black sleeveless top and matching Misha Nonoo midi pleated skirt and a blue coat from Smythe. Her mom looked equally stunning in a beige jumpsuit and matching scarf. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex looked dapper in a white button-up, a grey blazer and a pair of navy pants.

According to Chris Shipp, royal editor for ITV News, Doria introduced herself to the guests as "Meg's mum." The launching of "Together: Our Community Cookbook", which is already a best seller, is the first official royal engagement for Doria following Meghan and Harry's wedding on May 19 at St. George's Chapel.

Meghan and Harry are known for showing PDAs quite often and apparently being with Doria didn’t make them shy for flaunting their affection. During a photo call, the Prince was lovingly smoothing down Meghan’s hair when the wind whipped it up.

According to Kensington Palace's Twitter account, the profits from the sales of "Together" will support the Hubb Community Kitchen, keeping it open for up to seven days a week and helping widen its reach to others in the community.

One of the photos shared by the account saw the Duchess of Sussex excitedly joining Ahlam from the Hubb Community Kitchen to make green rice. All the recipe was from a community kitchen run by women affected by Grenfell Tower tragedy.

"I said in the foreword that this is more than a cookbook, and what I mean by that is, the power of food is more than just the meal itself," Meghan said at the Kensington Palace reception. "It is the story behind it, and when you get to know the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it."

She continued, "And that's what we're talking about in terms of coming together, to really engage and talk, and to be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us."
