'Let there be darkness,' is written across the all-red scheme poster for the upcoming season of the Netflix series.

AceShowbiz - Ahead of its season 3 premiere, "Daredevil" releases a new teaser poster. Through the new poster, it seems the Netflix series gives a warning to the fans that darkness is looming over the upcoming season.

Makings its way out through the show's official Twitter account, the all-red scheme features a cross at a grave with Daredevil's mask sitting on top of it. New York skyline is barely visible behind the grave. "Let there be darkness," is written across the poster.

The line is obviously a clear on Genesis 1:3 where God said, "Let there be light." The series continues the biblical reference as it writes, "Job 30:26," in the caption. The verse reads, "Yet when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, then came darkness."

"Daredevil" has been tweeting out bible verses on the micro-blogging site. Among them is 1 Corinthians 16:13 that reads, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." It also tweets Lamentations 3:25-26, which reads, "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

Season 3 of the Netflix's Marvel superhero series will reportedly be based on Frank Miller's 1980 "Born Again" comics storyline. It follows the revelation of Daredevil's secret identity after Karen Page sells the knowledge to his enemies. Kingpin then uses it to destroy Matt's life. Matt, who is driven to paranoia and insanity, is saved by Sister Maggie, who turns out to be his mother.

The upcoming season marks the first season with Erik Oleson onboard as showrunner, replacing Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez who were co-showrunners in the sophomore season of the series. Charlie Cox is set to return as the titular character, while Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page. Also returning for the new season are Elden Henson and Vincent D'Onofrio who will once again play Foggy Nelson and Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin respectively.

Season 3 of "Daredevil" is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime this year.
