Klenord Raphael alleges the femcee is unable to sue him because of her own acts, omissions or unlawful conduct.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B's ex-manager has urged a judge to throw out the countersuit the rapper filed against him.

Klenord Raphael, also known as Shaft, initially sued Cardi for $10 million (£7.7 million) in April, accusing the former stripper of allegedly turning her back on him after he put her on the path to fame. He insisted he played a key role in helping her score her breakthrough hit Bodak Yellow, only for Cardi to accuse him of stealing from her.

In July, the MC fired back by launching a countersuit for more than $15 million (£11.6 million), slamming Raphael for allegedly trying to control every aspect of her life, while also declaring the management deals he had her sign were too one-sided and "grossly unfair".

According to The Blast, Raphael is now requesting the lawsuit be dismissed, alleging Cardi is unable to sue him, because of her own acts, omissions or unlawful conduct, which are not detailed. He also claims she breached their contract because she did not give him ample time to correct any issues between them.

But Raphael wants his original lawsuit to continue.

Meanwhile, Cardi is also tied up in legal drama over the artwork on her Gangsta B**ch Music Vol. 1. release after Kevin Michael Brophy, Jr. accused the rapper of using his image on the cover for the album without permission.

He is demanding at least $5 million (£3.9 million).

Cardi asked for the case to be dismissed, but it has been allowed to continue and she has been ordered to sit for a deposition.

Her lawyers are asking for more time to schedule the court-ordered sit down because the rapper, who gave birth to daughter Kulture in July, "has suffered unanticipated postpartum complications..."

The deposition was initially scheduled to take place in June, but Cardi insisted she was too pregnant, and the plaintiff agreed to delay the matter.
