AceShowbiz - Actress Maura Tierney was hospitalised on Monday, August 27 after a car clipped her bicycle.

The former "ER" star was biking in Marina del Rey, California at around noon when her cycle was nudged by a passing car and she tumbled to the ground.

Paramedics arrived on the scene, placed a neck brace on her, and stretchered the actress into an ambulance, which took Maura to a nearby hospital, according to TMZ.

The driver of the car stayed with the actress until paramedics arrived and spoke to police officers, who believe he clipped Tierney's bike by accident.

A representative for the actress has confirmed the star was treated at the hosiptal and is now back at home.

"Maura has been released from the hospital with no major injuries," she says. "Thank you to everyone who has reached out with their concern."
