The music video for the song finds the seven-piece group performing the choreography amidst vibrant and colorful backgrounds.

AceShowbiz - BTS (Bangtan Boys) has more than just a new music video to treat to their fans when they released their much-anticipated album "Love Yourself: Answer" on Friday, August 24. Along with the release of "IDOL" music video, the seven-piece group recruited Nicki Minaj for an alternative version of the song.

Fans might have thought that the Trinidadian beauty would appear in the music video, but she unfortunately didn't. Instead, they were treated to scenes of the boys beautifully performing the choreography amidst vibrant and colorful backgrounds. Towards the end of the music video, they are joined by a crowd of dancers to perform the song together.

Meanwhile, Nicki lends her voices for the second verse of the alternate version, which could be listened to on streaming sites. "You know I've been a boss for my whole career/ I'm 'bout to jet in the leer/ And put more than my hands in the air," she raps. "If you getting money, rubber bands in the air/ Never gave an eff, they can cancel my care."

Rumors of their unlikely collaboration first sparked earlier this week a fan tried to ran its music video teaser through Shazam app and discovered that Nicki was featured on the song. Several others then followed the suit and got the same result. Nicki then fueled the rumors by liking tweets mentioning the collaboration.

Talking about their collaboration during an interview with Beats 1, leader RM (Rap Monster) said, "We are fans of Nicki Minaj, of course. She's like the best now! Dreams are really happening."

"IDOL" is the lead single off "Love Yourself: Answer", which is the third installment of the boyband's "Love Yourself" series following "Her" and "Tear". BTS is set to embark on a world tour in support of the album starting from August 25 in Seoul.
