AceShowbiz - Paramount Pictures just launched the first official trailer for its upcoming romantic comedy "What Men Want" starring Taraji P. Henson. The "Hidden Figures" actress plays sports agent Ali Davis, who has been gifted with an ability to read men's inner thoughts.

In the beginning of the trailer, Davis is seen arriving at her office with her new lavish car. She seems to be doing fine, but the footage later shows that she is constantly underestimated by her male colleagues. Davis confidently thinks she's going to get promoted, before she finds out that her boss passes the promotion to her male colleague instead.

"I'm sick of this boys' club," she tells her female friends at a restaurant in one scene, before it changes to show Davis' boss warning her, "You don't connect well with men, just stay in your lane." In response, the female sports agent hilariously hits a glass in the boss' room before leaving.

One of her female friends then introduces her to an eccentric psychic, who claims that she can help Davis connect with men. The footage shows Davis drinking a magic weed tea from the psychic and not too long after that, she collapses in a nightclub. Davis later wakes up with an ability to read men's thoughts. "Do we have any meetings on the book?" she asks one of her male colleagues. "Nothing yet," he answers, while his inner thought can be heard saying, "Except private poker game tonight."

"This is not a curse, this is a gift," Davis says of her new power, which seemingly has helped her gain more confidence. The trailer ends with Davis playing poker with her male colleagues, while she reads a man's mind who sits in front of her. "I smell a toast. Am I having a stroke? Wait, I have a toast in my pocket," the man says in his head.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, "Ali Davis is a successful sports agent who's constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what else she needs to do to succeed in a man's world...until she gains the ability to hear men's thoughts! With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar, but the lengths she has to go to will put her relationship with her best friends and a potential new love interest to the test."

In the film, Henson stars alongside Tracy Morgan, Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Aldis Hodge, Josh Brener, Tamala Jones, Phoebe Robinson, Max Greenfield, Jason Jones, Brian Bosworth, Chris Witaske and Erykah Badu.

"What Men Want" is directed by "Hairspray" director Adam Shankman and produced by Will Packer and James Lopez. The film will hit U.S. theaters on January 11, 2019.
