Margo Price Changes 'All American Made' Lyrics to Slam Donald Trump

The country singer perform the rewritten song at Newport Folk Festival in the Rhode Island.

AceShowbiz - Singer Margo Price switched up the lyrics to her track All American Made at this weekend's Newport Folk Festival to take aim at U.S. President Donald Trump over his controversial immigration policy.

The country star performed at the Rhode Island event on Friday, July 27, and used her set to voice her opposition to the Trump administration's former practice of separating kids from their parents for detainment after illegally entering the U.S. from the Mexican border.

The leader signed an executive order ending the continued separation of families following a widespread backlash in June, but authorities have since made slow progress reuniting minors with their parents, and Margo decided to call out Trump directly by reworking one of her verses onstage.

One festival attendee, videographer Erin Sutherland, noted the alteration in a post on Twitter, and claimed Margo told the crowd, "This is one of the few festivals I can play this, so thank you."

The musician spotted the tweet on Sunday, July 29, and shared her new lyrics for other fans online.

"Yes I did, thanks for listenin (sic)," she replied. "it was: I wonder how the President gets any sleep at night// and if the folks down on the boarder (sic) are making it alright//but I'm dreaming of that highway and it stretches out of sight// and it's all American made".

Margo ended her post by using the hashtag "#KeepFamiliesTogether".

She is the latest star to speak out onstage about the border crisis. Veteran musicians Emmylou Harris and Graham Nash recently joined the bill for The Lantern Tour: Concerts for Migrant and Refugee Families, a five-date trek in October organised by bosses at the Women's Refugee Commission, who are advocating for U.S. officials to end the practice of detaining families seeking asylum in America.
