The former Disney darling has been receiving support from her family and ex-boyfriend Valderrama, who has visited her at least twice at the hospital.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato is "getting better" following her reported overdose, and has been regularly visited by her former boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

The popstar was hospitalised in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 24, after emergency responders were called to her Hollywood Hills home.

Her representatives have since confirmed that she is awake and in hospital but said that initial reports alleging she had suffered a heroin overdose contained information that was "incorrect".

Since her alleged overdose, the 25-year-old is on the mend, with sources telling E! News that she has been receiving support from her family and ex-boyfriend Valderrama, who has visited her more than once at the hospital.

The 38-year-old That 70s Show star, who dated Lovato for almost six years until 2016, was spotted at the hospital on Wednesday, July 25, a day after her reported overdose, and again on Thursday.

The Sorry Not Sorry hitmaker battled substance abuse as a teenager, and had been sober since 2011.

Her hospitalisation comes a month after she released her song Sober, in which she sings about relapsing, and in recent weeks had cut ties with her sober coach.

Back in 2015, Lovato paid tribute to her then-boyfriend Valderrama on Instagram, as she celebrated three years sober.

"I really wouldn't be alive today without him. I love you Wilmer," she gushed.

The pair has been openly supportive of one another ever since, with Demi revealing in her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated that she had "never loved anybody" like she loved Wilmer and will always adore him.

The actor was said to be "shocked" after learning about his former flame's apparent overdose and appeared sombre while at the hospital visiting her.
