The 'Baby Driver' star starts borrowing his girlfriend's handbags because he has yet to find a man bag which isn't 'boring.'

AceShowbiz - Actor and DJ Ansel Elgort has started borrowing handbags from his girlfriend's closet to keep his personal items handy whenever he leaves the house.

The "Baby Driver" star claims he has yet to find a man bag which isn't "boring", and he didn't want to rock a fanny pack, also known as a bum bag, because he's just "not into" the trend, so he decided to dig into his high school sweetheart Violetta Komyshan's wardrobe to find accessories which would compliment his own outfits.

"We share handbags - I wear handbags now," he happily tells PeopleStyle. "Purses are really cool, or like the ones you put over your shoulder. You can put your camera in there, your phone, your wallet."

"Sometimes if I'm wearing tight pants I don't want to put anything in my pocket," he adds. "Or sometimes it falls out of my pocket. So we share those now."

Ansel has always been interested in experimenting with his style, and that includes trying on clothing items designed for women, even if others don't approve.

"I think that style should always be personal and you should do what you feel, whatever that is," he shrugs. "If something inspires you or you see something you like... If I see clothes on women that I like, unfortunately I can't fit (into) most of it because I'm too big, but anything I like, I'll wear, even if someone else is telling me, 'What the hell are you wearing?' It's not going to stop me from walking out of the house wearing it."

His fearless fashion sense has landed Ansel a new role as Global Ambassador of Ralph Lauren's Polo Red brand, and the face of its latest fragrance, Polo Red Rush, and the star insists it's a natural collaboration, because he has been using colognes from the company since he was a young man.

"When I was growing up I think the thing that pushed me to always dress well or try to smell good was girls," the 24-year-old confesses. "When you're a young guy and you're chasing after girls it's the idea that I could spray something on me that makes me smell good and help me in that department. As soon as I could buy it I did."

However, Ansel admits that's where his main grooming routine ends because he rarely washes his hair and only really cleans his face if he has a "dirty" day - although he has learned to use moisturiser.

"I never moisturised before I started becoming an actor," he mused. "That's the important thing. Apparently Pharrell (Williams) exfoliates. Brad Pitt takes care of his skin."
