AceShowbiz - Rapper Wiz Khalifa is unfazed by criticism of racially insensitive lyrics in his new song Hot Now, insisting detractors need to "chill out".
The Black and Yellow hitmaker courted controversy with a line referencing the shape of Asian eyes, after recently releasing the track on his Rolling Papers 2 album.
"Smoke got my eyes lookin' Korean," he spits in the lyrics in question, but Wiz is adamant there is nothing malicious about the reference, and he refuses to apologise for his work.
"Chill out, I'm not racist. I love all races," he told New York radio show The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, July 17, when he was asked about a report in The Korea Times about the potentially offensive wording.
"I have Korean friends who are not offended, so I don't know those people who are saying that (criticising him)," Wiz said. "My art is up for interpretation."
