AceShowbiz - Charlie Puth is not afraid to show his vulnerable side on camera, and that's what he does in music video for his latest "Voicenotes" single "The Way I Am". Directed by Colin Tilley, the three-minute visuals was released on Monday, July 9.

The video features the singer-songwriter at his broodiest during a raging house party. While everyone has a great time partying and socializing, he is seen reclining on a kitchen counter and finding solitude on a floor littered with guitar pedals. Puth then goes out and sits by the pool, flaunting his toned abs while watching other partygoers playing in the pool.

"Maybe I'ma get a little nervous/ Maybe I don't go out anymore/ Feelin' like I really don't deserve this/ Life ain't nothing like it was before," he sings. " 'Cause all I wanna do is just hold somebody/ But no one ever wants to get to know somebody."

The end of the music video shows Puth looking happier as he finally gets the woman he likes.

"The Way I Am" is the fifth single off "Voicenotes". In an interview with Genius, the "See You Again" hitmaker explained that the song is about him coming to terms with his celebrity status. "I was known for who I was dating more than my music," he said. "People were forgetting that I was actually a singer. And that was not good and multiple people told me that wasn't good."

"I worked too hard to have that reputation. So I just like a slight steer to the left and brought it back to the music. I honestly feel better mentally than I ever have in my life," he added.

Puth is currently gearing up for a North American tour in support of the album. The trek will launch on July 11 in Toronto and conclude on September 1 in West Palm Beach, with Hailee Steinfeld serving as the supporting act.
