The 'Power' star reunites with her estranged husband, Carmelo Anthony, to visit the relatives of Lesandro 'Junior' Guzman-Feliz.

AceShowbiz - TV presenter-turned-actress La La Anthony spent part of her 39th birthday on Monday, June 25 comforting the family of a New York teen killed slaughtered by gang members by mistake.

The "Power" star reunited with her estranged husband, basketball ace Carmelo Anthony, to visit the relatives of Lesandro 'Junior' Guzman-Feliz, who was brutally dragged out of a shop in the Bronx last Wednesday night (June 20) and repeatedly beaten and slashed with a large blade by five attackers on the street.

The 15-year-old, an aspiring policeman, died from his injuries as he tried to make his way to a nearby hospital, and it subsequently emerged Guzman-Feliz's death was the result of a case of mistaken identity by members of the Trinitarios street gang, whose leader has allegedly apologised to his grieving family.

On Sunday, June 24, La La headed to the memorial site set up in tribute to Lesandro after arriving back in her native New York from Los Angeles, and she returned to the Bronx on Monday to pay her respects to the tragic teen's loved ones, while Carmelo also donated some signed gifts in his memory.

"This is what I wanted to do for my birthday today," La La captioned an Instagram photo of the former couple with the boy's mother.

Revealing Junior's sister had reached out to her online, she continued, "I can't imagine this type of pain and sadness. His family is strong and may God bless them forever."

La La also suggested they had made a financial donation to help with funeral costs, and she urged fans to support the cause in anyway they can.

"just do what YOU can even if it's $1," she wrote. "this family will be in my heart forever".

This is what I wanted to do for my birthday today. Thank you to the gram for connecting me to this family. I wanted to offer our love and support to Lesandro “Junior’s” family. His sister @__octobersveryown__ reached out and told me he loved Melo. So I asked Mel to go with me. I can’t imagine this type of pain and sadness. His family is strong and may God bless them forever. Seeing his family smile when we walked through that door is something I will never forget. Putting my arms around his mom is something I will never forget. Being in his room is something I will never forget. Pls go to his sister in laws page @c0co__amor to donate to this family. (& before it starts...we did more than bring jerseys and sneakers) just do what YOU can even if it’s $1.. this family will be in my heart forever 🙏🏽🙏🏽#justiceforjunior #justiceforjunior

La La and Carmelo aren't the only stars to send their condolences to the Guzman-Feliz family - Cardi B reportedly donated $8,000 (£6,000) to the GoFundMe page, and Rihanna mourned the teen's death in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday.
