The English singer-songwriter will receive the award for the second time to pay homage to his dynamic 50-year career.

AceShowbiz - Ozzy Osbourne is set for a double honour at the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in June after being named the recipient of the same prize he picked up last year as a member of Black Sabbath.

The 69 year old will be recognised with the lifetime achievement honour at the prizegiving to pay homage to his dynamic 50-year career.

"What an immense honour it is to be getting a second Golden God Award after Sabbath picked one up last year," Ozzy says. "The fans who have supported me and this music mean everything to me, which is why getting this award is so special. I will see you all down there".

The rocker is planning one final solo tour after disbanding Black Sabbath last year (17) following a concert in the band's native Birmingham, England.

Previous recipients of the Metal Hammer Golden God Award include Motorhead frontman Lemmy, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine and Rob Zombie.

The 16th Metal Hammer Golden God Awards ceremony will be held at London's O2 Arena complex on 11 June.
