Responding to people who say their relationship is toxic due to his mental illness, he writes, 'Just because someone has a mental illness does not mean they can't be happy and in a relationship.'

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande fans are worried that their idol is involved in a toxic relationship after knowing that Pete Davidson suffers from borderline personality disorder. Some are not even afraid to slam the comedian because of it, saying that he shouldn't date the Nickelodeon alum. However, he has defended himself from those who think their relationship is impacted negatively by his mental illness.

In a now-deleted Instagram Stories post, the "Saturday Night Live" star said, "Normally I wouldn't comment on something like this cause like 'f**k you.' But I've been hearing a lot of 'people with BPD can't be in relationship' talk. I just wanna let you know that's not true. Just because someone has a mental illness does not mean they can't be happy and in a relationship. It also doesn't mean that person makes the relationship toxic."

Saying that he has been seeking professional for his mental illness has "changed my life for the better," Pete continued noting, "I just think it's f***ed up to stigmatize people as crazy and say that they are unable to do stuff that anyone can do. It's not their fault and it's the wrong way for people to look at things. I may be crazy but at least I'm aware of it and not afraid to be honest about it and I'm not hiding behind a Twitter or Instagram account."

"Mental illness is not a joke it's a real thing. There's kids out there killing themselves. And it's f***ing horrific," so he concluded his lengthy post. "For all those struggling I want you to know that I love you and I understand you and it is going to be okay. That's all. Love to everyone else."

Back in 2016, Pete checked himself into rehab following a series of "mental breakdowns." At that time, he was dating Larry David's daughter, Cazzie David.
