'It's an honour to have Elton John on board as an Auddly ambassador,' says Niclas Molinder, Auddly founder and CEO.

AceShowbiz - Elton John is working to ensure songwriters get paid fairly as a new brand ambassador for Auddly.

Auddly, co-owned by songwriters Max Martin and ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus, helps to identify and pay songwriters for streamed compositions, according to Billboard.

Company bosses have already teamed up with executives from music organisations including Universal Music Publishing Group and American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and now the Rocket Man star is throwing his support behind the plan.

"It's time to realize that we need to manage our metadata more efficiently to overcome the challenges preventing creators from getting paid correctly, and I support Auddly in its efforts towards a more sustainable music industry," a press release from the singer reads.

"It's an honour to have Elton John on board as an Auddly ambassador," Niclas Molinder, Auddly founder and CEO, adds. "Thanks to his outstanding experience as a songwriter and artist he is very aware of the metadata issues and his support is valuable for us."
