AceShowbiz - Elton John performed an emotional set of four songs at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding reception on Saturday night, May 19.
The 71-year-old was one of the 600 guests at the royal wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor on Saturday and was asked by the bridegroom to sing at the luncheon at St George's Hall.
Elton, who was a close friend of Princess Diana, has remained close to her sons, Harry and Prince William, since her death in 1997.
The British singer was introduced onstage at the reception by Harry, who reportedly turned to his guests and jokingly asked: "Can anyone play the piano?"
Elton gave a moving performance of four of his hits - "Your Song", "Tiny Dancer", "Circle of Life" and "I'm Still Standing", according to The Daily Mail.
"He was incredible. It became like a mini-concert in the reception area," a guest told the newspaper. "Some people were even crying."
Meanwhile, Elton has also taken to Instagram to share a shot of Harry and Meghan kissing on the steps of St George's Chapel.
He captioned the photograph, "Love recognises no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination, full of hope. - Maya Angelou."
Elton's husband David Furnish also posted a snap of the happy newlyweds exiting the chapel on Saturday and thanked the royal couple for inviting them to the exclusive event.
"Such an honour to witness their beautiful union. True love knows no boundaries. A proud day for Britain and an inspirational day for the rest of the world," he wrote.
In a recent interview with Time magazine, Elton gushed about the 33-year-old prince.
"Prince Harry has that rare ability to walk into a room full of strangers and make everyone feel comfortable and at ease," he said.
