The Alabama physician doctor has pleaded not guilty, facing up to 240 years in prison if convicted.

AceShowbiz - An Alabama physician will face charges he improperly prescribed fentanyl and other drugs to late 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts in court on Friday, May 11. Dr. Richard Snellgrove is accused of the unlawful distribution of controlled substances as part of a 13-count federal indictment in Mobile, according to the SunHerald.

Roberts died from a drug overdose in 2016, ahead of a charity event for veterans in Wisconsin.

Snellgrove allegedly began prescribing drugs to Roberts as early as 2005, knowing the rocker had addiction problems.

The doctor has pleaded not guilty. He faces up to 240 years in prison if convicted.

The trial is expected to last 10 days.
