Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz Open Cannes Film Festival With 'Everybody Knows' Premiere

The couple attended the premiere of their new film to mark the start of the annual film festival on Tuesday, May 8.

AceShowbiz - Spanish superstars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz officially opened the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in France on Tuesday, May 8 by walking the red carpet ahead of the premiere of their new film, "Everybody Knows".

Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi joined his stars and their Argentine castmate Ricardo Darin at the gala launch for the movie, one of 21 vying for the coveted Palme d'Or.

Australian actress Cate Blanchett will chair the panel of judges, who will decide which film triumphs. She has been joined by filmmakers Ava DuVernay and Denis Villeneuve, and actresses Lea Seydoux and Kristen Stewart.

The festival runs until May 19.
