Admitting that the source of the feud was 'a fundamental difference in philosophies,' the 'Rampage' actor says he wishes his 'The Fate of the Furious' co-star 'all the best.'

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has spoken up about his feud with Vin Diesel that took place during the production of "The Fate of the Furious" in 2016. In a new interview with Rollling Stone, the wrestler-turned-actor confirms they didn't shoot any scenes together, although his character Luke Hobbs and Diesel's Dom Toretto share one key moment in the film.
"That is correct. We were not in any scenes together," he says of filming the eighth "The Fast and the Furious" movie with Diesel. Johnson first hinted at the feud when he called some of his male co-stars "candy a**es" and dubbed them unprofessional in a set video.
As for what caused the feud, the 45-year-old hunky actor reveals, "Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not."
Asked whether he will return for the next film, he replies, "I'm not quite sure. Right now I'm concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be." He adds, "But I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have. Actually, you can erase that last part about 'no ill will.' We'll just keep it with the clarity."
Johnson's decision to make the spin-off, which will center on Hobbs and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, later sparked a feud with his other co-star, Tyrese Gibson. The latter was not pleased that Johnson chose to move forward with the spin-off, which is supposedly delaying "Fast and Furious 9". Gibson criticized Johnson on social media, calling the "Moana" voice actor "the real selfish #CandyA**" and accusing him of "[breaking] up the fast family."
