AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle is the latest celebrity who gets wax treatment ahead of her highly-anticipated wedding, joining Queen Elizabeth II, fiance Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Prince William. Her wax replica will be launched at Madame Tussauds Museum in New York as well as in London.
As of now, details about her outfit and stance remain a secret. However, a spokesperson for the museum says in a statement that it "will reflect an iconic moment in Meghan's royal journey so far." The spokesperson also notes that Meghan will not pose for the statue. The company will instead rely on "research information and photography to ensure Meghan's infectious and warm personality is captured in the final figure."
"Excitement for the royal couple's wedding reaches across the globe, so it will come as no surprise that we've been secretly working away on a Meghan Markle figure since news of the royal engagement broke," general manager Edward Fuller said in a statement.
He continued, "It's clear that the public has already taken Meghan to their hearts. One half of arguably the most famous couple in the world right now, she's already made her own mark as a humanitarian and role model. We're excited to give guests the chance to meet her in the attraction later this year."
While the figure in London will go up in early May, the one in New York isn't expected to hit the gallery until summer. Meanwhile, visitors named Meghan or Harry (ID required) are allowed to visit the attraction free of charge from March 21 to the couple's May 19 nuptials.
Meghan and Harry are set to tie the knot at St. George's Chapel, and according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Harry is already thinking about having kids with his bride-to-be. "My sources are saying that Prince Harry, particularly, is very keen to start a family, pretty soon after the royal wedding," she tells Entertainment Tonight. "He's made no secret about wanting children."
