It seems like Chelsea Handler is rubbing salt in the wounds for her alleged former BFF Jennifer Aniston. The comedian reportedly slammed the "Friends" alum for her recent split from husband Justin Theroux, saying that Jennifer brought it all on herself.
"Chelsea did not think much of Justin, but she said from the get-go that Jennifer would need to readjust her expectations and treatment of him if they were to actually stand a chance," a source shared to Radar Online.
As reported before, Jennifer and Chelsea's relationship was damaged after the former found out that Chelsea shared secrets about her personal life. In fact, it might be one of the instances of Chelsea allegedly "not holding back on this stuff."
However, now that Jennifer and Justin had announced their separation, "Chelsea's feeling pretty smug and 'I told you so' about it now." According to the source, "She feels she's owed an apology."
Jennifer reportedly cut the 42-year-old comedian out of her life for good after forming years-long friendship with the latter. Jennifer's A-Lister army was later forced to choose her or Chelsea with many choosing the "Horrible Bosses" actress over Chelsea.
Jennifer and Justin announced their split last month. "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year," the former couple said in a joint statement. "We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."
Rumor has it, being apart for most of the times was what led them to the split. "Jennifer is more comfortable in Los Angeles with her close-knit group of friends" because she "couldn't deal with the paparazzi and the pokey apartment" in New York, according to a source. However, Justin, who owns a place in Greenwich Village, "doesn't feel as at home in L.A., nor with Jennifer's friends, he loves New York, and the edgier crowd in the city."
The source concluded, "As they spent more and more time apart, their problems became bigger. He's very focused on himself and his craft. And Jen is not the easygoing girl she wants the public to think she is. She isn't as happy, and she is far more complicated."
