When asked whether the songstress is open to dating women, she answers that she is 'very fluid' and that she likes the freedom of 'being able to flirt with whoever I want.'

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato has long been coy about her love life, but it appears she is more willing to talk about the subject now. In an interview with InStyle magazine for its April issue, the songstress reveals that she is "open" to dating both men and women.

"I'm very fluid, and I think love is love," she tells the mag after being asked whether she is open to dating women. "You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want."

While the "Sorry Not Sorry" hitmaker reveals that she doesn't care about gender, she does have some specific requirements when it comes to who she will date. Demi says she seeks someone who will "treat me like a queen," adding that she also likes to be the alpha in the relationship.

"I'm normally the first one to make the move," she continues. "I'm always the one who says, 'Let me get your number.' Or I slide into their DMs on Instagram." But it looks like Demi won't be sliding into anyone's DM anytime soon as she's currently enjoying her single status.

At 25, Demi Lovato has turned her struggles into strengths, and is stronger because of it. “You have to speak out about stuff. You have to use your voice for good,” she says. “I didn’t have anybody who was doing that when I was younger. I grew up in the era of really, really skinny celebrities. That was the look. And it was cool to be seen partying. Drugs were glamorized, and when I was 12 or 13, nobody [I looked up to] was talking about mental illness. Nobody was talking about eating disorders. Nobody was talking about cutting. I wanted somebody for my little sister to look up to. I took on that role because I knew it was important.” Read the full story at the link in bio. | Photographed by @carterbedloesmith #DemiLovato

"I'm not suffering because I'm alone," so the former Disney darling admits. "There were many years I was in a relationship and I wasn't learning about myself. Now I'm learning about what I like, what I need and what I want."

Elsewhere in the interview, Demi mentions that she likes the idea of dating another MMA fighter following her brief relationship with Guilherme "Bomba" Vasconcelos. She says that she finds fighters "attractive" for "being so driven and risking it all for something you love."

Her love life aside, the "Tell Me You Love Me" singer speaks out about mental health and eating disorder in the interview. "You have to use your voice for good. That's what I think a lot of people are starting to do. I didn't have anybody who was doing that when I was younger," she says.

"I grew up in the era of really, really skinny celebrities. That was the look," she adds. "And it was cool to be seen partying. Drugs were glamorized, and when I was 12 or 13, nobody [I looked up to] was talking about mental illness. Nobody was talking about eating disorders. Nobody was talking about cutting.
