The new trailer for the sci-fi series sees Lucy and Wyatt passionately locking lips during what seems like a candlelit dinner while a new mission awaits.

AceShowbiz - Are you ready for a brand new adventure with Lucy Preston? NBC has dropped a new trailer for the second season of "Timeless", which promises a new mission and a new enemy in the upcoming season. Opening the trailer is Abigail Spencer's Lucy, whose voice can be heard saying, "My life has completely changed overnight."

The trailer later teases that the sophomore season will continue dropping the characters into difficult situations in the past, seemingly ranging from 1955 to 1962. A scene during a war is glimpsed, while the characters are having a new mission which is to "save history." But according to Rufus (Malcom Barrett), "saving history sucks."

In addition, the new trailer hints at the romance between time-traveling historian Lucy and soldier Wyatt (Matt Lanter). Rufus can be heard telling Wyatt, "You're in love with Lucy. Just admit it." The next scene is seemingly what fans have been waiting for. Lucy and Wyatt are passionately locking lips during what seems like a candlelit dinner.

Created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, the sci-fi series debuted on October 3, 2016 on NBC. The network initially canceled the series after the freshman season, sparking backlash from fans who demanded the network resurrect the series. Later, the network announced that "Timeless" was renewed for a 10-episode second season.

"There was a moment earlier in the week where we just thought, 'We have all these shows that are coming back and these new shows and maybe there's not room for 'Timeless' ' and we decided to move on from it," NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt said. "And then woke up the next morning, all of us, and heard from fans and the outcry and we thought, 'Well, let's figure out how to try to bring it back.' We went back to the drawing board in every way with our partners, with Sony, and I'm happy to say we were able to figure out a way to bring it back. We love the show creatively. Nothing would make us happier than to see the audience grow."

The series follows the adventures of history professor Lucy Preston, scientist Rufus Carlin and soldier Wyatt Logan as they attempt to stop Garcia Flynn (Goran VisnjiC) from changing American history through time travel. Also starring on the series are Paterson Joseph and Sakina Jaffrey, portraying Connor Mason and Special Agent Denise Christopher respectively.

Season 2 of "Timeless" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, March 11 at 10 P.M. on NBC.
