AceShowbiz - Madonna's recent Instagram post has sparked backlash among social media users. The 59-year-old songstress took to the photo-sharing platform on February 18 to share a topless selfie of herself. But many of her followers slammed her as she looked unrecognizable in the snap.
The said picture showed Madonna donning a black fedora hat that was tilted on her head. It completely covered her left eye. She sported heavy eye shadow while keeping her eyes closed for the shot. She completed her look with a gold necklace. "Sunday Bloody Sunday," so she captioned the pic, adding the hashtags #under, #his, #eye, #praise and #be.
"I'm sad that you've ruined your face my queen!" one follower wrote in the comment section. Another user wrote, "You are starting to gross me out! Please stop with these kind of pics!" One other noted, "Oh dear. What you doing Madonna? No clothes and looks as tho you got coke nose!! Not good!!"
"Why try so hard for the shock and awe factor @madonna it's not a good look and neither is your nakedness. Sell your music not your a**," another user said. Another simply commented, "Ugly like hell."
Fortunately for her, some fans came to her defense by saying that people should not judge other people's appearances. "How about you stop telling the woman what she should/should not show if you don't like it don't look," a fan wrote.
Another wrote, "Why does it bother you that she wants to do what she wants? She is having fun, looks great and is still to this day making music. She's happy and that's all that matters." One other echoed the remark, "She can do whatever she wants. Don't follow her if it bothers you so much."
Madonna herself has yet to respond to the backlash over her topless selfie.
