AceShowbiz - Fans of Spice Girls are probably rejoicing right now. The English pop girl group just announced that they would reunite this year following a meeting at Geri Halliwell's house in Hertfordshire, England. The girls took to social media on February 2 to share pictures from their meeting.
"Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting x," so Victoria Adams a.k.a. Victoria Beckham wrote alongside a picture of the girls posing in a living room. The other picture saw the five-piece group sitting on a couch as they posed with their former manager Simon Fuller. Victoria captioned it, "Love u all so much!!! X Such a great day!! Thank u Simon! X VB."
Following the posts, which immediately sparked an internet frenzy, Spice Girls released a statement regarding their afternoon meeting. "We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching-up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together," they stated, adding that they were overwhelmed "at how much interest there is across the whole world for The Spice Girls."
They went on expressing how the time felt right to "explore some incredible new opportunities together." The girls continued, "We all agree there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations."
While the girls didn't share any details about their upcoming reunion, an insider told The Sun that their reunion might include "TV projects in China, a new telly talent show, endorsement deals and a compilation album celebrating their greatest hits."
However, performances will likely not be part of this reunion. "Victoria and Geri agreed it would be impossible to be a part of fully-fledged tour because of family and business commitments," the source continued, alleging that Victoria finally agreed to reunite after being assured she would not need to sing.
