However, his admission to Kyunghee University has been canceled after he was accused of getting special treatment to be accepted into the graduate program.

AceShowbiz - As Jung Yong Hwa's admission to Kyunghee University became a controversy, another story related to his plans to enter the graduate program is revealed. According to a former FNC Entertainment employee, the 28-year-old singer/songwriter's real purpose of attending graduate school was to postpone his military enlistment.

"Jung Yonghwa entered the doctoral program to postpone his military enlistment. That was the sole purpose and reason. He's postponed his military enlistment numerous times. He was originally scheduled to go to the army on August 2, 2016 but postponed it until September 30. Then he postponed that date indefinitely with the graduate school’s admittance," said the former employee.

The source added, "Other celebrities also use this method to postpone their military service. There's an employee that actually checks in to the class as substitutes of the actual celebrity. That way, their attendance is always perfect for the online classes."

FNC Entertainment is the agency that represents the idol and his band CN Blue. However, the label has denied the new accusations, saying in a statement, "That's news to us. It is true that there is an employee that manages the education schedules of our artists. But that employee's role is to hand out tablet computers to the artists that are attending online university courses and classes."

Meanwhile, Kyunghee University has decided to cancel Yong Hwa's admission into their graduate program. "Kyunghee University will cancel the enrollment of Jung Yonghwa, who is surrounded by the controversy about a preferential admission into the graduate school," MBN News reported.

The professor, who personally contacted FNC Entertainment to urge Yong Hwa to enter the graduate program, has reportedly stepped down from his position as well. He was involved in alleged forgery of official documents, according to a police investigation.

The university has also announced that they will be investigating the preferential admissions process of singer Seo Kyung Man.

As reported before, Yong Hwa has apologized after landing in controversy for allegedly being admitted into the grad school without going through a due process. He posted a handwritten letter on Instagram which read, "First of all, I sincerely bow my head in apology. No matter what the reason, no matter what the truth is, I know everything is my fault and I am deeply sorry. I will humbly accept everything said about me. I am sincerely sorry for embarrassing and disappointing my family, my members, and my fans who have believed in me and cherished me. I know it will be difficult to touch your heart with any words or writing, but I want to say I am sorry once again. I am sorry for taking your time away with a post like this."
