AceShowbiz - Surprise! Maria Menounos is officially a married woman. The 39-year-old actress/journalist tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Keven Undergaro, in a surprise New Year's Eve wedding in Times Square which was live broadcast on Sunday night, December 31.
The couple opted to tie the knot just before the clock struck midnight. Menounos, who was hosting Fox's NYE show that night, surprised her father and mother, who is battling stage-four brain cancer, with the happy news.
"I will be the coldest bride ever but the happiest," Menounos wrote along with a video of her teary-eyed parents' reaction to the wedding news. She added, "Seeing my parents happy means everything!"
The TV personality, who had a brain tumor removed last summer, looked beautiful in a Pronovias strapless lace gown with a matching lace detachable coat. The groom, meanwhile, wore a simple black tuxedo for the chilly ceremony. Menounos' co-host for the show that night, Steve Harvey, officiated the wedding.

Speaking to PEOPLE, the couple said they had two weeks to plan it and that the idea came from a TV producer. "When I started working on the Fox New Year's Eve special, I sat with the producer to go over what we were planning," Menounos said, adding that the producer wanted to have a couple get married right in Times Square.

"She said, 'Unless you and Keven want to get married.' And I was like, 'Ha ha, no.' I was nervous, but I got in the car and kept thinking about it and I was like, 'Wait, this really is kind of perfect,' " she shared. It turned out to be the right decision for the couple. She said, "I really, truly believe that it's taken us this long [to get married] because of the pressures of putting a wedding together."

After the ceremony, the couple planned to host a New Year's Day brunch with friends and family at their hotel. "I'm excited to be able to call her my wife," Undergaro said. "It's been girlfriend for so long that it will be nice to finally, finally be able to say 'my wife.' "
Now New York City "is going to be such a special place for us," added Menounos. "This was not something that would have ever crossed my mind. I just feel like God puts everything in our path."
