AceShowbiz - A Mexican YouTube star was brutally shot to death after hurling on social media an insult at a notorious drug cartel boss, authorities said. Juan Luis Lagunas Rosales, better known as "the Pirate of Culiacan", posted a video of him being drunk and saying, "El Mencho can suck my d**k." El Mencho is one of the most dangerous drug cartel bosses in Mexico as well as one of the most wanted men.

After the clip surfaced online, on Monday, December 18, it was reported that four men with "long weapons" entered a bar called Mentados Cantaros and walked directly to 17-year-old Juan's table. Witnesses claimed that the teenager died after being shot by fifteen bullets and was hit 18 times.

Further reports stated that the bar manager had been injured during the shooting and remained in a serious condition in hospital. It was also reported that a 25-year-old employee of the bar was shot to death during the incident.

Prosecutors have not determined the identities or motives of the murderers, but they are currently investigating a possible link between the murder to the recent video, where he was seen insulting El Muncho.

Juan was best known for making videos that showed himself drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and cracking jokes. His popularity led him to be featured in a music video along with several popular Mexican artists, but he was later arrested for underage drinking.

When he was finally released, Juan admitted to radio host Pepe Garza that he was alcoholic and wanted to get clean. He shared, "People ask me, 'How do you do it? How do you handle drinking so much?' I just laugh. I said, 'I don't know how I do it.' But they're right. Sometimes I go too far."

In another interview, the teenager stated that he wanted to quit drinking to pursue career in music, mentioning that he already signed a deal with Cash Records. "I want to learn to sing now, that's going to be my motto," he said at the time.
