Initially set to air on December 24, the JTBC show's 21st episode, which features the late SHINee member who died on December 18, will be replaced by 'a special broadcast' instead.

AceShowbiz - "Night Goblin" has decided to cancel an episode, which is initially set to air on Sunday, December 24, featuring a final TV appearance of SHINee's Jonghyun. The decision is made in the wake of the "She Is" singer's death in an apparent suicide on Monday, December 18.

"In place of the 21st episode of 'Night Goblin' planned for this Sunday, the 24th, at 6:30PM KST, a special broadcast will air instead," JTBC says in a statement. It was previously revealed that the producers were still discussing whether or not they would broadcast the episode as scheduled. It has yet to be decided if the late singer's episode will ever air in the future.

Majority of fans seemingly think that it is the best decision, though they hope "Night Goblin" will air the episode someday in the future. "i hope they'll air it sometime in the future after most people has calmed down, we want to see our Jonghyun's precious smile," writes a fan. Similarly, another fan says, "I'm glad they decide not to air it this week. It must be so painful for his families and friends. However, I hope they will still broadcast it as 'Jonghyun Special' someday.. I dont mind about the date but i hope they will."

Another fan adds, "It's for the best... it's too soon right now, but I hope they air it some time in the future, because I want to watch it someday and smile at Jonghyun's last broadcast..."

JTBC dropped a preview of the episode on Sunday, December 17, just hours before the lead vocal of SHINee was found unconscious in a residential hotel. The Christmas special sees Jonghyun and the Goblins, one of whom is NU'EST's member JR (also known as Kim Jong Hyun), completing various missions and attempting to make the dreams of fans come true in a series of non-celebrity challenges. Fellow SHINee member Minho also makes a guest appearance in the episode.

Jonghyun passed away at 27 after found unconscious in a residential hotel, after sending suicidal text messages to his sister. Police believe he died from inhaling toxic fumes as they found coal briquettes burnt on a frying pan upon arriving at the place.

His funeral was held on Thursday with Minho leading the procession with Jonghyun's sister. His groupmates Onew, Key and Taemin carried the casket alongside Super Junior's Leeteuk, Lee Donghae and Eunhyuk.
