The 'American Hustle' actress and the 'mother!' director were spotted walking into a residence in New York City, as a source says they remain close after their split.

Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky reunited, more than a month after their split. The former lovers were spotted walking into a residence in New York City together on Wednesday, December 20. The 27-year-old actress was holding her dog Pippi as they were chatting up on the street.
In pictures obtained by Daily Mail, the Academy Award-winning actress looked stylish in a long light gray coat over a black top and skinny jeans, paired with white tennis shoes, a black handbag and sunglasses. The 48-year-old director, meanwhile, wore a black puffy jacket over a T-shirt with dark slacks and maroon sneakers. He also sported a gray newsboy cap and tinted sunglasses.
So are they getting back together? Not so fast. A source tells E! News after the sighting, "They are friends. They are not officially back together but are spending time together again. They never stopped speaking after they broke up. They care about each other. They are just seeing what happens."
Another source tells Page Six that they're just friendly exes for now. "Truth is they are friends," the source says.
News of Jennifer and Darren's split broke in November and the breakup reportedly happened the month before. "It was amicable and they are still friends," a source said at the time. They had been together for over a year after meeting on the set of "mother!" in 2016.
Recently, it was reported that the "X-Men: Apocalypse" star was getting close with Brad Pitt, who is twice older than her. "Brad and Jennifer have been enjoying lots of late nights together. There's an intense connection between them," a source told Star magazine, adding that "Brad has had his eyes on Jennifer for years" and he thinks "Jen is perfect."
However, the dating report has been debunked. A source close to the actor told The Sun, "These are completely false reports."
