Paramount has announced the release dates for three of its biggest upcoming movies, including the next "G.I. Joe" film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "G.I. Joe 3" will hit theaters across the nation on March 27, 2020. It's still unclear, though, if the third movie will be a continuation of the previous two films, "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" (2009) and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" (2013), or a complete reboot.

Director D.J. Caruso revealed earlier this year that he wanted to make "G.I. Joe 3" a "Transformers"/"G.I. Joe" crossover film. However, Paramount and Hasbro ultimately decided against bringing the two franchises together for various reasons, with the two companies later reassessing the project. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been confirmed to reprise his role for the third movie, while Channing Tatum's return has yet to be confirmed by Paramount.

The next film set to open that same year by Paramount is "Micronauts". Based on Hasbro's toy line which follows a race of microscopic alien warriors from an alternate dimension, the film will be released on October 16, 2020, seven months after "G.I. Joe 3". As of now, no information is known on who will be directing the film.

As for "Dungeons & Dragons", Paramount has announced that the film will open on July 23, 2021. "Deathstroke" actor Joe Manganiello previously revealed that he had developed a "Dungeons & Dragons" script with John Cassel. But it's currently not known if the studio will use Manganiello's screenplay for the film which is based on the fantasy tabletop role-playing game originated in 1974.

A few years ago, Paramount and Hasbro announced plans to include several franchises such as "G.I. Joe", "Micronauts", "Visionaries", "ROM" and "M.A.S.K." under the same cinematic universe. Paramount has dated an untitled Hasbro film for October 1, 2021, but it remains to be seen if this mystery project has anything to do with the Hasbro shared movie universe.
