While fans are waiting for the music video for SZA's hit song "The Weekend", the Missouri native decides to collaborate with Calvin Harris to release a funk wav remix of the song. The remix was premiered on Friday, December 15.

The nearly-three-minute track finds Calvin transforming the slinky slow jam into a house jam, adding some bouncy sounds to the track. SZA's immaculate vocals also fit perfectly to the funky beat. "My man is my man is your man/ Heard it's her man too," she rhymes. "I just keep him satisfied through the weekend/ You're like 9 to 5, I'm the weekend/ Make him lose his mind every weekend."

The funky remix receives great responses from fans of both SZA and Calvin. A fan gushed in the comment section, "As good as the original! This is so rare to happen!" adding some heart emojis. Another fan praised both stars, saying that "the beat boos and goes with the vocals! Yaaaas SZAAA."

"The Weekend" is one of the tracks off SZA's debut album "Ctrl", which was released on June 9. Even though the track was never officially released as a single, the track earned a platinum certification and was nominated for Best R&B Performance at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Learning that the track earned a platinum certification, SZA took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude to her fans, saying that it was "the best birthday gift ever."

Speaking to Pitchfork, the "Supermodel" songstress admitted that she still couldn't believe that she had a successful year this year. "I feel like people are sick of me saying I'm surprised. They're like, 'B***h, shut up,' and I'm just like, 'I can't because I'm literally shook,' " she remarked, adding that she would try to "pretend to be not shook if it would make you all less angry with me."
