AceShowbiz - After teasing fans with a series of teasers on social media, Demi Lovato finally debuted the music video for "Tell Me You Love Me" on December 1. Starring Jesse Williams, the nearly-seven-minute clip shares the story of a couple going through all the ups and downs of a relationship before their wedding day.
The first two minutes of the visuals, which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Mark Pellington, gives viewers a look at the couple's engagement. The viewers also get to see the couple's fight after Jesse learns that Demi is still in contact with her best friend Erik days before the big ceremony. "It's possible we're not ready [for the marriage]," Jesse tells Demi.
The song eventually plays during the wedding scene. "Oh, tell me you love me/ I need someone/ On days like this, I do/ On days like this," Demi sings along with a choir behind her. "No, you ain't nobody 'til you got somebody/ You ain't nobody 'til you got somebody." The video ends as Jesse tells Demi that he can't marry her and takes off his wedding ring, walking back down the aisle.
Following the release of the clip, Demi said in a statement that the song is one of her favorite songs off "Tell Me You Love Me", leading her to make it the title track. She remarked, "I not only love singing it, but I think the underlying meaning is important for people to know. At the end of the day, you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that's yourself."
Demi also revealed that shooting the clip was really fun. "Shooting this video was really fun too! We had a full on wedding and my best friends were even my bridesmaids and groomsmen. The locations were absolutely beautiful," she added. "It was perfect and I'm so excited to show everyone."
