AceShowbiz - %cDMX% brings hip-hop vibes to holiday season. On Wednesday, November 29, the New York rapper finally released an official remix of holiday classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" after a video of him rapping to the song went viral back in 2012.
Produced by Divine Bars, the one-and-a-half-minute song finds DMX showcasing his raspy, aggressive voice over the uptempo instrumental, which is filled with gentle jingle bells as well as thumping drums. Dog growls can also be heard in the song. Sticking to the original lyrics, the rapper rhymes, "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer/ Had a very shiny nose/ And if you ever saw it/ You would even say it glows."
DMX's cover of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is part of Spotify's Singles Christmas playlist, which also includes covers from %cFifth Harmony%, %cDemi Lovato% and %cSam Smith%. Just like his cover video in 2012, the track becomes viral in no time, with a lot of people saying that the song is the best Christmas track of the year. "I am going to make sweet Christmas love to my woman with this song playing in the background," one comments.
The release of the track comes on the heels of news that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, will star on a documentary series entitled "In the Dog House". The show will give viewers an intimate look at the rapper's life as he prepares his upcoming album and attempts to repair his relationship with his 15 children after finishing his rehab.
"I'm just excited to get back out there and show my fans that I'm still a force to be reckoned with in hip-hop and invite them into my vast world of spiritually and growth," DMX said of the project. The "No Sunshine" rapper is also gearing up for a collaboration with %cTimberland% for Engineered Garments' upcoming footwear products.
