AceShowbiz - In order to keep fans intrigued, director Luc Besson, who co-wrote and directed hit action franchise "Taken", debuted the first photo of his new movie, "Anna (2018)", on Instagram. The image featured newcomer Sasha Luss who would portray the title role. The caption of his post read, "ANNA. Be ready!"

The film, which started shooting this month, will be an English-speaking action thriller with $30 million budget. The script is based on Besson's idea and writing. It will be distributed by Lionsgate and produced by Besson's EuropaCorp.

"We are delighted to be reunited with Luc and his EuropaCorp team on another exciting, action-packed film featuring an A-list cast," Lionsgate MPG Chairman Patrick Wachsberger told Variety. Its president of acquisitions and co-productions, Jason Constantine, also said previously, "Luc is a visionary filmmaker with whom we are proud to extend our longstanding relationship."

The film, which will be released under Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment label, also stars Oscar winner Helen Mirren ("The Fate of the Furious"), Luke Evans ("Beauty and the Beast (2017)") and Cillian Murphy ("Dunkirk"). There are still no details released about the film, plot and roles of the cast members.

Despite the disappointing result of their big budgeted film, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets", EuropaCorp still aims to focus on making action thrillers and sci-fi films in line with their previous productions like "Taken", "Lucy", "The Professional" and "The Fifth Element". However, they will produce less of them so that Besson will be more creatively involved in all EuropaCorp's projects and he will have more oversight over each film. The budget per project also ranges modestly from $25 million to $35 million. Other than "Anna", EuropaCorp is also developing a sequel to "Lucy", which script is already written by Besson.

"Anna" will be the first major role for Luss after her supporting role in "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". Evans recently starred in "Professor Marston & the Wonder Women", which premiered last month. Mirren will be seen in Disney's "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" in 2018. Murphy has his name listed as the actor of upcoming "The Party".
