AceShowbiz - The wait is finally over. After unveiling the music video teaser on October 12, NCT's Doyoung and gugudan's Kim Sejeong finally released the music video for their collaboration "Star Blossom" on the next day. The music video is a part of SM Entertainment's project called SM Station.
The video opens with a soft piano melody, followed by Sejeong's gentle, highly expressive croon. Then, viewers get to see the former I.O.I member as she gets ready for her date with Doyoung. The plot itself is going back and forth, showing the time when the duo have started dating before going back to when they meet for the first time. The video ends with a rewind of their relationship, going back again to the moment when they first meet at a cafe.
The lyrics of the song revolve around the romantic feelings that two lovers share while going on a night stroll together. There is a scene where they are shown sitting back to back in matching white shirts, singing the sweet lyrics, "A night walking with you/ We're fill up our empty silences/ With small conversations/ You are so bright/More than those stars/ You are growing so clear."
SM Station is a project by SM Entertainment where the artists of the company collaborate with outside musicians. The project became a big success after first song "Rain", who was sang by Girls' Generation's Tae Yeon, was nominated for various awards. The song eventually won Digital Bonsang Award at the 2017 Golden Disc Awards. Big names such as K.Will, Beenzino and Yoo Jae Suk joined the first season of this project.
The second season started on March 21 with Red Velvet's "Would You". "Star Blossom" is the 28th release of the second season, following Max Changmin's "In a Different Life", U-Know Yunho's "Drop" and more. After Taeyong and Mark, Doyoung was the third NCT member who unleashed a song for SM Station season two.
