Roman Polanski is under investigation by Swiss police over new rape allegations. The 84-year-old French-Polish director is accused by Renate Langer, a 61-year-old former actress from Germany, of sexually assaulting her back in February 1972 when she was 15 years old.

According to The New York Times, Langer told police in Switzerland that the assault took place at Polanski's then-home in Gstaad. The controversial filmmaker admitted to having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977, but fled the United States before he could be sentenced.

Langer came forward in hopes that the law would allow her claims to be investigated. She explained to the site that she kept quiet about the incident at the time, mostly out of concern for her parents. "My mother would have had a heart attack," she said. "I felt ashamed and embarrassed and lost and solo."

Harland Braun, a lawyer for Polanski, reportedly declined to comment on Langer's allegations.

Langer is now the fourth woman to come forward to publicly accuse Polanski of sexual assault. On Tuesday, October 3, the "Rosemary's Baby" director made headlines after claiming in a rare interview that he had completed his sentence for drugging and sexually assaulting 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in 1977 in the U.S.

"As far as what I did: It's over. I pleaded guilty," Polanski told The Hollywood Reporter. "I went to jail. I came back to the United States to do it, people forget about that, or don't even know. I then was locked up here [in Zurich] after this festival. So in the sum, I did about four or five times than what was promised to me."

Geimer requested an end to the case earlier this year, saying that she had forgiven Polanski.

In August, another woman, Robin, spoke up accusing Polanski of sexually victimizing her in 1973 when she was 16 years old. In 2010, British actress Charlotte Lewis also accused Polanski of abusing her sexually when she was 16.
