AceShowbiz - Jimmy Kimmel remembered Hugh Hefner in the best way he could, making a joke, on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Opening his show on Thursday night, September 28, the comedian began by sharing the sad news that the Playboy founder died of natural causes. He added, "Although they won't be able to rule out foul play because of the DNA evidence they found in the house."
Kimmel then joked that Hefner must be disappointed by heaven, because there's no naked girl there. Speaking about his legacy, he continued, "Mr. Hefner was an advocate for racial equality, free speech and equal rights. But mostly he'll be remembered for the boobs."
The comedian then showed footage of a CBS reporter talking about how people reacted differently to Hefner's death. "There are so many perspectives out here on Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame about his legacy as you take a look at his Star," Tom Wait reported, before the scene switched to show Hefner's Walk of Fame Star which was trashed with a banana, a puddle of jelly and a hot dog.
Kimmel later noted that with Hefner gone, "they're engaged in the very difficult job of naming his successor." He then played fake footage of CNN live broadcast from the Playboy Mansion, where they were holding a sort of election a la papal conclave. After a white smoke was seen coming out through the chimney, it's revealed that Charlie Sheen was chosen as the successor.
Hugh Hefner died on Wednesday, September 27 at 91 years old. "Hugh M. Hefner, the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognizable American global brands in history, peacefully passed away today from natural causes at his home, The Playboy Mansion, surrounded by loved ones," Playboy said in a statement.
Some Playboy models have paid tribute to the late media mogul. Pamela Anderson was one of them, writing a poem and sharing it with her Instagram followers. She also posted a video of herself wearing lingerie in bed. She tearfully said, "Goodbye Hef."
